Tags: DIY coffee table, hairpin legs
Remember when I posted sometime last year that I wanted to make this coffee table? I finally got around to ordering the hairpin legs and buying the table top last month. Then after a weekend of unsuccessful attempts to find a power drill, my friend Maria lent me hers and the table was completed. It still needs to be oiled every few days for the next two months, but so far I have to say, I’m totally happy with the results.
For these photos, my sister Jenny (pictured above) helped me with the styling and “tablescaping”. She says, “We wanted the coffee table to be the focal point of our living room, around which our friends could gather to sip single origin espresso and trade tips about holistic vets.” Ha! We had so much fun being tablescape artists for the day.

Hello friends and Happy Valentine’s Day! I had such a fun impromptu crafting session with my sisters and friend Jacqui* yesterday. I brought out all my crafting supplies and we all made valentines for our boos. I decided to ditch the traditional card and made an unravelling message instead. I stamped the message using my alphabet stamps and added a washi tape border. Then I ravalled (is that even a word?) it all up and packaged it inside a little muslin bag! Can’t wait to give this to Rance tonight!
* Thanks Jacqui for helping with the message. You are a true wordsmith.
It was mad dash to finish up my sketchbook these past few days, but I did it! My book is on its way to the Arthouse Co-Op in Brooklyn. Good thing the folks there gave us a 3 day extension, otherwise I don’t think it would have been possible for me to fill up all those pages. Above are a few of my favorite pages. The Sketchbook Project will be going on tour starting in March so check it out if you can! The tour stops in San Francisco mid-June…it will be so much fun to look through everyone’s books!
First off, Happy New Year! One of my resolutions this year is to stay more organized and on top of things like long term projects…like the Sketchbook Project! I have completely forgotten about my poor little sketchbook until I found her last week underneath a pile of paper work. I have so many blank pages to fill and I only have two weeks to do it! Eep! Sometimes, a tight deadline really gets my creative juices flowing so fingers crossed that it won’t fail me this time. Stay tuned…

Being the procrastinator that I am, I saved all my shopping, gift-making, gift-wrapping, and card-making til the last minute. I stayed up til 4am this morning stamping cards and making all the my packages look pretty. My favorite go-to combo is kraft paper, ribbon, and shipping tags. On some packages, I added pages from an old german book that I had laying in my scrap bin. Cards were made using a new stamp in the Hero Arts 2011 Catalog. It is definitely one of my faves! Messages are from an old clear set. Off to take a catch some much needed zzzz’s! Wishing you all the happiest of holidays! xo, Mon
